Returns & Exchanges

Version 1.5 · Effective 23 July 2026

The short version

Buying eyewear you haven't had on your face is a leap. We've made it a short one.

Buy a Lite, take 14 days to check the fit, and if it isn't right send it back for a full refund or swap it for something that is. No interrogation, no restocking fee.

Lite lenses are stock, so a Lite pair can come back. Anything with an Air, Pro or Max lens is cut to your frame and cannot. That is the whole of it, and it is why we suggest buying the Lite first.

The 14-day fit guarantee

You have 14 days from the date you receive your order to return a Lite pair.

This is a fit check, not a trial period. Wear them indoors as much as you need to. Put them on, walk around, check the coverage, the peripheral vision, how they sit after twenty minutes. What we can't take back is a pair that has been out in the field, because we can't sell it to the next person as new.

To qualify, it must come back:

  • Indoor-fresh. Worn indoors to check the fit is fine. Not ridden in, not run in, not worn outdoors or in sport.
  • Undamaged and unmarked. No scratches on lenses or frame.
  • Complete. Frame, case, cleaning bag, documentation, tags and outer packaging.

We process the refund to your original payment method as soon as the return has been received and checked. From there it is in your bank's hands, and cards typically take a further 3 to 5 working days to show.

Exchanges are simpler than returns. Tell us what you'd rather have, send the original back, and we ship the replacement as soon as it reaches us. If there's a price difference we invoice or refund it.

What can't come back

Upgraded lenses are final

Air, Pro and Max lenses are cut and fitted to your specific frame, to order. They are not stock items, and once cut they are yours. There is no return and no exchange on them for change of mind.

This isn't us being difficult. Once a lens blank has been cut to your frame it cannot become anything else. Same reason a tailor can't restock a finished suit.

How long it takes

We hold blanks for most lenses, so the cutting and fitting is the only work left and most orders ship within three working days. Where a particular tint or coating needs to come in first, we tell you when you order and we keep you posted. We would rather give you a date we can hold than a fast one we cannot.

The custom fitting is the part we take most seriously. It is what makes the lens yours rather than something off a shelf, and it is the reason the pair ends up doing exactly what you bought it to do.

We say all of this on every lens product page, in your cart, and again in your order confirmation, so nobody meets it for the first time here.

So if you're at all unsure about fit, buy the Lite first. Wear it, make sure the frame suits you, and upgrade the lenses afterwards. We can fit Air, Pro or Max into a frame you already own and are happy with. We'd genuinely rather you did it that way than commit to a bespoke lens on a frame you haven't tried.

Upgraded lenses stay fully covered by the Wingman Warranty if they're defective. This exclusion is about change of mind, not about faults.

Everything else

  • Digital products and 3D print files, once downloaded
  • Gift cards
  • Chemical X and other liquids, once opened
  • Items marked Final Sale at the point of purchase

Faulty, damaged or wrong item

Different process, different rules. None of the above applies.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or simply isn't what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs. We arrange collection and a replacement or refund at our cost. You don't pay shipping either way, and you don't pay for our mistake.

Longer-standing faults are handled under the Wingman Warranty.

How to return something

1. Tell us first. Email support@aerospherevision.com, or WhatsApp +27 74 123 5069 if you're in South Africa, with your order number and what you'd like to do. We issue a Return Reference (RTN-XXXXX).

Don't send anything back without a reference. Unreferenced parcels sit with the courier while we work out whose they are, and that slows your refund down.

2. Pack it properly. Eyewear in its case, case in a box, invoice or order number in the box. Write the RTN reference on the outside.

3. Send it. Our courier rate is R110 and takes 2 to 3 working days. You pay this on change-of-mind returns. We pay it on faults and errors. Keep your tracking number, and use a tracked service so the parcel is covered while it's in transit to us. If something goes wrong on the way, send us the tracking and we'll help you chase it.

Return address

Returns go to our optical fitting facility in Bellville, not to our Stellenbosch office. Our fitting partner cuts and fits every upgraded lens and handles everything coming back to us, so a return sent to the office only adds a leg to the journey.

4. We check and process. We inspect on arrival and confirm by email. Refunds are raised straight away. Exchanges ship the same or next working day.

International returns

Orders shipped outside South Africa follow the same 14-day terms, with three differences:

  • Return shipping is at your cost. Use a tracked service.
  • Mark the parcel RETURNED GOODS, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on the customs declaration.
  • Original outbound shipping charges and any duties you paid are not refundable.

Your rights under South African law

This policy is offered in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. That includes the right to cancel certain electronic transactions within seven days of delivery, and the right to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not as described.

Our 14-day window is longer than the statutory minimum. It doesn't replace it. Where this policy and the law differ, the law wins.
